Petit Aiguille Verte 3512m Chevalier Couloir (D 45°-50°)

Posted: February 24, 2010 in Ski, tour

Brendan, Mika and I headed up Grand Montet this morning for a quick tour but the climb ended up taking much longer than expected due to the huge amounts of snow. The Couloir was in great condition but we ended up sking in a bit of a white out and i managed to catch a rock under the snow and smash my face. Only got a few photos due to the bad light but you can see how deep the snow was on the climb up. At points we were cutting a shoulder high trench! Had a complete white out once out of the couloir and had to rope up on the Argentier glacier as we couldnt see more than a few feet, i got sent out first thanks lads!
